I would love for a Quiet Area to be established at the campground. In my ideal Quiet Area, there would be no generators, no radios or music, no loud talking after 10:00 p.m. The campground is very large, and I don't see why this can't be accomplished. I've asked this question in the office, and I've emailed D.E.M. a few times and have never gotten a response. In my Quiet Area, people who stay there would have to agree to these stipulations when they register. People who are quiet should not be at the mercy of the loud people. I have loved camping at Burlingame for many years, but I always feel like we're on pins and needles waiting to see if our neighbors are going to drive us crazy with their noise. A quiet area would be a reward for those of us who enjoy peace and quiet. It would be a real solution to the rule-abiding people like me who, at times, have been surrounded by people who are breaking multiple rules.
I also feel that some of the park rangers turn a blind eye to people who are drinking alcohol. My solution is that a couple of rangers are sent out 'undercover' in the afternoons and evenings to walk to see what's going on. At times I have seen campers openly walking around with beer cans.
